Job Title: Senior SIEM SOC Analyst / Instructor

Location: Relocation required to one of our Projects (specific location to be determined)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SIEM SOC Analyst / Instructor with a proven track record in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and Security Operations Center (SOC) operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in advanced cybersecurity roles and a demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and mentor SOC teams while maintaining a hands-on role in operations and incident response.

As a Senior SIEM SOC Analyst / Instructor, you will oversee SOC operations, ensure the effective use of SIEM tools, and lead threat detection and incident response efforts. In addition, you will play a key role in training and mentoring analysts, sharing your expertise in SOC workflows, threat intelligence, and security best practices. This role combines leadership with hands-on technical expertise, allowing you to directly impact SOC efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands on SOC Operations: Oversee day-to-day SOC activities, including monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and escalation workflows.
• Lead Threat Detection and Response: Ensure efficient use of SIEM platforms for log analysis, threat hunting, incident triage, and resolution.
• Create and maintenance- Create , maintain and update of SIEM and SOC technologies rules and alerts.
• Develop and Optimize SOC Playbooks: Create and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and playbooks to enhance SOC capabilities and readiness.
• Mentor and Train Analysts: Provide guidance and mentorship to SOC team members, fostering their technical growth, analytical skills, and career development.
• Perform Hands-On Analysis: Engage directly in SOC operations, including log correlation, rule creation, alert tuning, and forensic analysis, to lead by example and solve complex challenges.
• Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Continuously evaluate and adopt the latest technologies, tactics, and best practices in cybersecurity to maintain SOC effectiveness.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with stakeholders, including IT, compliance, and executive teams, to align SOC activities with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in advanced SOC roles such as SOC Manager, Senior SOC Analyst, Threat Hunter, Incident Responder, or SOC Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as QRadar.
• Familiarity with defensive tools, including IDS/IPS, EDR, firewalls, and other cybersecurity technologies.

Leadership Skills:

• Proven ability to lead and manage SOC teams, including mentoring analysts and fostering a collaborative environment.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline SOC operations.
• Deep understanding of log management, correlation, and alert tuning.

Certifications:

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, OSCP, SIEM-specific credentials, or Security+ (Is a plus).

Communication and Collaboration:

• Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive security initiatives.

Relocation:

• Willingness to relocate to one of our project locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and implementing custom SIEM use cases, dashboards, and alerting rules.
• Knowledge of cloud security practices, including integrating SIEM tools with platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience conducting or simulating SOC playbooks and incident response drills.
• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and its application in SOC workflows.
