Cloud FinOps Engineer

The Cloud FinOps engineer supervises the Cloud efficiency, budget, processes and is responsible for optimizing our cloud’s costs. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic multi-tasker FinOps Engineer with a vast knowledge of cloud services to join our team to monitor and manage the financial aspects.

You will promote the FinOps principles with the culture and best practices to increase our company’s ability to understand cloud costs and manage trade-offs.

What you’ll do:

• Evangelize cloud cost management across different levels within the organization, including decision-making executives, R&D, and customer services teams, promoting a culture of cost accountability and awareness.
• Work with the financial teams on budget, forecast and expenses reports for everything related to the cloud.
• Create financial models to calculate the cost of new products and financial and usage reports, and dashboards for actionable intelligence to right-size and scale services efficiently.
• You will help develop automation and monitoring tools for focusing on optimizing resource usage and cost reduction, identifying, and optimizing cost trends.
• Research new technology and services.
• Work with architects to design new services in the most cost-efficient way.
• Create metrics, reports, and recommended remediation plans for financial excellence in the cloud.
• Manage the provisioning of cloud resources for customers and affiliates

You’ll do it using:

• At least 1-2 years experience as a Cloud FinOps Engineer or equivalent.
• Proven experience in Cloud Cost Management, Cloud vendors offerings and consumption models.
• Proven analytical skills and experience with visualization and analytical tools (Excel, AWS Athena, Splunk, etc.) and cost optimization Cloud environments (AWS is an advantage).
• Proven experience navigating inside complex data sets, pull out insights and create appropriate solutions.
• Python scripting skills – a strong advantage.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, and Ansible – an advantage
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification – a strong advantage.
