Tech Lead – Deep Learning & Algorithm Development

About the Company

Biobeat is a dynamic med-tech company with unique health-AI abilities in the patient monitoring field. Our remote patient monitoring health-AI platform includes a disposable short-term chest monitor and a long-term wrist monitor, both utilizing a photoplethysmography-based (PPG) sensor to continuously provide accurate patient readings of 13 health parameters.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Tech Lead for our Deep Learning & Algorithm Development team. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge biomedical signal processing and deep learning algorithms while mentoring team members and defining tasks to drive innovation and efficiency. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with leadership skills, excelling in a hands-on role while guiding the team to success in parallel.

Role & Responsibilities

• Hands-on algorithm development projects end-to-end: concept, data engineering, model training, validation, and deployment for Biomedical Signal Processing systems.
• Design and optimize algorithms for real-time biomedical applications, leveraging both signal processing and deep learning techniques.
• Define tasks and roadmaps for team members, ensuring alignment with project goals and mentoring their technical growth.
• Foster innovation by exploring and applying advanced deep learning methodologies to signal processing challenges.
• Conduct and oversee clinical data experiments, including collection, processing, and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, lab operators, and hardware developers, to achieve project milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in deep learning, with a proven track record in developing and deploying real-world applications.
• Solid knowledge of signal processing techniques and principles.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, etc.).
• Expert knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Solid understanding of statistics, applied mathematics, and data exploration techniques.
• Proven ability to design and optimize algorithms for real-time, production-ready systems.
• Excellent hands-on development skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Strong leadership capabilities to define tasks and mentor team members while driving parallel progress.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to prioritize and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
