C++/Python Developer

About Us:

We’re an ambitious pre-seed startup focused on creating a novel musical instrument - acoustic  piano with digital strings. The piano will combine the natural sound and feel of the acoustic instrument with the flexibility and practicality of the digital setup.  

As we build our foundational technology, we’re seeking aspiring software developers. You will get hands-on experience with the cutting edge sound synthesis technology based on the complex physical modeling, high-efficiency parallel programming techniques and modular multi-technology software architecture,  and you will help us  bring our vision to life. 

Role Overview:

As a C++ Developer, you will be a key contributor to our technical foundation, working alongside the CTO and founding team. You’ll leverage C++ skills for the GPU programming and/or  low level sound/MIDI handling and processing, playing a vital role in our early-stage product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• C++ Programming: Write and maintain C++ and C++/CUDA components that interface with audio cards and Python
• 
  
• Audio handling and processing: Implement low latency MIDI and audio input and output interfaces.
• Performance Optimization: Profile and fine-tune code for maximum efficiency on targeted hardware setups.
• Python Integration: Develop API interface to integrate C++ based software modules in the python environment seamlessly, supporting the larger system.
• Collaborative Development: Work directly with the founding team, offering input on tech direction, addressing challenges, and adapting to our evolving needs.

What We’re Looking For:

• C++ Expertise: Experience in C++ development, particularly in performance-critical environments.
• Sound Processing:. Knowledge of the principles of sound generation and sound processing is an advantage. 
• Experience with hardware drivers, specifically with the sound device drivers, is an advantage.
• Musical education, especially piano playing skills, will be a huge advantage
• Problem Solving: A self-starter with a creative approach to solving technical challenges.
• Team Collaboration: Comfortable working in a small, dynamic team and able to communicate effectively in a remote environment.
