Process and Automation Engineer

As a Process Engineer at GreenOnyx you will support the development of our system through its entire product life cycle, possess hands-on experience in process design, automation, and optimization, and will play a key role in improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall production performance.

Definition & Responsibilities

Process Design & Documentation:

· Design and document formal processes, ensuring clarity and precision in every stage. This includes creating: ֿProcess Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Block Diagramsץ

Advanced Excel Skills:

· Utilize advanced Excel techniques for data analysis, process-related calculations, and accurate reporting. High proficiency in Excel is essential for managing data-driven insights and making informed decisions.

Process Automation:

· Lead the design and implementation of automation systems to improve production efficiency. Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and integrate automation solutions.

Process Optimization:

· Evaluate existing processes, identifying areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and boost overall performance.

Plant Design Experience:

· Contribute to the design of industrial plants, with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production-related terminology. Experience in large-scale plant design is preferred.

Hands-On Involvement:

· A hands-on approach is crucial in this role. You will actively engage with systems and processes at every stage, from seeding to packaging, to identify limitations and implement improvements. The process team performs all steps, ensuring comprehensive oversight and optimization.

Preferred Skills:

· Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and its application in industrial processes.

· Practical experience working with pumps, valves, and related mechanical systems.

· Familiarity with sterile process environments, including Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Steam-In-Place (SIP) systems.

· Knowledge of automation techniques, including the use of sensors and feedback loops for real-time data optimization.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.

· 3+ years of proven experience in process design and optimization, especially in manufacturing environments.

· Strong skills in Excel, including advanced data analysis and process modeling.

· Experience in process automation and improvement.

· Familiarity with industry-standard software tools for process design.

· Advantage: Knowledge of fluid dynamics and experience with industrial components like pumps and valves.

· Interpersonal skills and excellent teamwork - the ability to work in startup environment, meet technical as well as human challenges.

· Knowledge of testing methodologies.

· Good documentation skills.

· Fluent in technical English – verbal & written.
