Senior Software Engineer - Platform Team - Microsoft Defender for IOT

Azure IoT Security is a new group at Microsoft responsible for building advanced security solutions to protect IoT & OT devices at global scale on top of Azure. 

This group is built from a combination of cloud and security experts with a recent acquisition of CyberX (IoT & OT security startup). 

  

The product combines cutting edge cloud technology with security understanding and fast-growing market of IoT, monitors and protects millions of devices in IoT & industrial networks around the globe and is part of Azure security services for IoT. 

  

We are seeking highly skilled and passionate software engineers with a strong background in infrastructure , that have experience with cloud infrastructure, agent-based systems, CI/CD systems.

Responsibilities

As an engineer on our team, you will be working on cutting edge technologies to deliver exciting new features and improve scalability, and build or enhance infrastructure that directly impacts a large number of Defender for IoT users.

You will work closely with experienced engineers and also will have a role in mentoring more junior peers and helping them succeed.

You will be expected to apply a critical view of our infrastructure, technologies and development process, proactively pushing to improve the product and our group. Our group is consistent from both feature teams and platform teams and we are looking for candidate with passion in either or both.

• Lead customer-facing features from ideation to production

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software and Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of hands-on Server-side development or infrastructure engineering experience using C#, Java or C/C++ or Python in a high-scale production system. 
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration (preferably in cloud environments).
• Experience with databases (MariaDB, Cosmos DB, Redis, Kusto)
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools (ADO preferred). 
• Experience working with cloud infrastructures, with a preference for Azure technologies.
• Strong design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills. 
• Outstanding communication skills and collaboration capabilities. 
• Independent, with internal drive and self-motivation. 
• Self-learner with passion for technology and ability to learn and use new technologies
