Mechanical Engineer - JB-149

General description:

Shamir Optical, a global leader in the ophthalmic industry, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer.

This is a great opportunity which allows you to combine technological research & analysis of next generation products, with a strong connection to business and marketing aspects, and a full product lifecycle overview.

Responsibilities:

1. ·Take the mechanical engineer role for developing multi-disciplinary systems consisting of mechanics, electronics, optics and software.
2. ·Plan and drive research lab hands on activities – such as prototyping, platforms bring ups, performance testing, etc.
3. ·Generate end to end system analysis and research results reports.
4. ·Support production lines of products designed by HQ engineering.

Job requirements:

1. ·B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering.
2. ·At least 7 years of relevant experience. Must include mechanical design like sheet metal, machining and injection molding. Drive systems and industrial control (advantage).·Hand-on prototyping capabilities like mechanical assembling, wiring and soldering.
3. ·Experience with lab equipment and measurements of physical systems.
4. ·High level of problem-solving skills and debugging of high complexity systems.
5. ·Fluent English, and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

·This is a full-time position, working from Kibbutz Shamir.
