A preschool in Tel Aviv is looking for a Director of Education to join their team.
The Director of Education is responsible for shaping and implementing the educational vision for preschool’s programs serving children from birth to age six across all locations in Israel. This role entails mentoring staff, guiding curriculum development, supporting Early Childhood Education (ECE) Directors, and ensuring that the school’s philosophy is evident throughout the learning environment. As the pedagogical leader, the Director of Education promotes excellence in play-based, child-centered education while supporting the professional development of educators.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the Head of the School to develop and implement a unified educational strategy for all branches catering to children from birth to six years old.
- Assist ECE Directors in aligning practices and curriculum with the philosophy and the standards set by the Ministry of Education.
- Act as the primary communication link between branch teams to guarantee consistency in education practices and adherence to policy.
Educational Support & Pedagogy
- Oversee the creation and execution of developmentally suitable, play-based curricula that address the needs of children from birth to age six.
- Guide educators in fostering social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in accordance with child-centered learning principles.
- Provide mentorship and expertise to ensure that innovative, evidence-based teaching methods are consistently applied.
- Regularly observe classroom practices, evaluating teaching strategies, interactions, and the learning environment, and offer constructive feedback to educators for ongoing improvement.
- Facilitate reflective discussions with educators to enhance their understanding of child development and educational philosophy.
Staff Development
- Offer individualized coaching and mentorship to ECE Directors and teachers to support their professional growth.
- Organize and lead professional development opportunities to equip staff with the skills needed to support children aged birth to six.
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration, growth, and creativity among the teaching staff.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure that educational programs comply with or exceed the standards and regulations set forth by the Ministry of Education for children ages birth to six.
- Conduct regular assessments of educational quality and provide actionable feedback to ECE Directors and educators.
- Promote inclusivity by ensuring that children of all abilities receive the support they need in their learning and development.
Community Engagement
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with families to encourage their involvement in their children's educational journeys.
- Represent our school at events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to advocate for high-quality early education for children ages birth to six.
Requirements:
- Certified Pedagogical Advisor for ages birth to six according to Ministry of Education standards.
- MA in Early Childhood Education.
- Extensive experience in early childhood education, including curriculum development and mentorship of teachers.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a talent for inspiring and managing diverse teams.
- Strong commitment to our philosophy and a play-based, child-centered approach to learning.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
