Backend Engineer

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain backend microservices using Python (Django/FastAPI) running on Kubernetes.
• Design and implement data ingestion pipelines to integrate IoT devices like IP cameras and sensors into the system.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs to support scalable backend services.
• Collaborate with internal, cross-functional teams to design and develop robust software architecture.
• Contribute to cloud-native deployments using AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in distributed systems.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions to shape the future of the platform.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers and actively assist in managing the team to ensure smooth operations and successful project delivery.
• Communicate technical decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience:

• 3+ years as a backend developer/engineer with a focus on cloud technologies and system integrations.

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with Python (Django/FastAPI) - must-have.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker for managing microservices - must-have.
• AWS infrastructure experience, including services like EC2, S3, and RDS - must-have.
• Database expertise with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP) and technologies.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Bonus Points:

• Experience integrating IoT devices like IP cameras and sensors.
• Knowledge of frontend basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or frameworks like Vue.js.
• Exposure to video surveillance technologies or data ingestion pipelines.
