Senior Backend Engineer

Laguna Health is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale our innovative digital health GenAI solution. You’ll design cloud-native applications, taking ownership of features from inception to deployment, and ensuring they handle large data sets with precision. Your work will enhance care teams' efficiency by supporting AI-driven communications with people

Our tech stack: Node.js, Typescript, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS, K8s, Lambda, EKS, SQS, IAM, VPC.

Apply if you have:

• 7+ years of experience in backend development, with expertise in Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Strong experience with AWS services, including Lambda, EKS, SQS, IAM, and VPC.
• Hands-on experience in building and maintaining microservices architectures, utilizing tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, from development to testing to production.
• Deep knowledge of software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and multithreading.
• Experience with best practices in code quality, testing, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to thrive in a startup environment, taking initiative and solving challenges independently when needed.

Bonus points for:

• Experience working with LLMs, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Llama.
• Familiarity with TDD, unit testing, mocking, and other testing methodologies.
• Previous experience with healthcare technology or any domain-specific experience in digital health systems is a plus.
