Data Science and Algo team leader

Somatix is looking for a Data Science and Algo team leader to augment and lead our Algo team.

Our main focus is on detecting complex gestures (eating, drinking smoking etc ..) and activities (falling, sleeping) by using sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope etc…) raw data from wearable devices and state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. We utilize this information to derive insights regarding the patients physical and mental condition.

This position will be responsible for:

Lead the Algo team

Hands-on feature engineering (Python)

Hands-on development of ML algorithms (Python)

Develop ML infrastructure (Python)

Collaborate with cross-function on roadmap and delivery

Generate the team roadmap to improve existing and develop the new algorithms

Identify and adopt new and advanced tools for algo and machine-learning

Initiate and Lead data collection pilots

Report to the VP R&D

Requirements:

Relevant MsC or PhD

6+ years of experience as a data scientist

3+ years of experience leading a data-scientists team

Must have extensive experience programming in Python

Must have excellent programming skills (object oriented)

Must have experience in a startup environment

HW/FW Domains knowledge - advantage
