Mobile App Development Tech Lead (iOS and Android)

Brief

Novodes is looking for a Mobile App Technical Leader (iOS and Android) to join our team to work on a medical device development project with a multinational medical device company based in Rehovot. Our company has been working on this project for over six years. The work shall be done at the client's location in Rehovot. The site is near the train station in Rehovot, and two days of work can be done from home each week (hybrid).

Role Description

A medical device company is seeking a Mobile App Technical Leader (iOS and Android) for a full-time position.

As the digital app technical leader, you will be responsible for the technical aspects of the mobile app with hands-on development. Development includes ownership of the design, coding guidelines, and processes; app reliability, quality, and stability; unit testing; integration with other system components (cloud services and medical devices); code reviews; technical document writing; and introducing new processes and technologies. The development should consider medical regulation, cybersecurity privacy aspects, timelines, and budget constraints.

The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, full-stack, backend developers, and SW system engineers, to gather requirements and develop mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.

It is estimated that 30% of the position would require actual code writing.

Key Responsibilities

• Defining the application development process in the relevant development environment
• Ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Define scalable design for the applications.
• Actively seek weak points in the technical aspects (cyber, technology, etc.)
• Introduce updated mobile app development technologies and tools
• Continuously strive to improve the development process and the products

Reports To: Head of SW and Digital Development

Competencies

• Deep understanding of the relevant SWs and SW development processes:
• SW Languages: Kotlin, Swift, and Java for current apps. Any additional language that would be relevant for cross-platform next-generation apps.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Hebrew, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to learn and understand medical device development processes
• Team player for effective collaborations with all relevant persons (technical and not)

Education and Knowledge Requirements:

Must:

• Proven experience of at least 5 years developing and maintaining mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms for regulated applications (fintech, insurance, health, etc.)
• Experience developing with defined processes, such as version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile software development methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). - advantage

Nice to have

• Experience integrating mobile applications with cloud services - must. AWS- advantage.
• Knowledge of mobile app security concepts and implementation techniques, including secure authentication and data encryption.
• Prior experience in SW/ system level development of multidisciplinary product- advantage.
