Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Materials Development & Merchandising Specialist to join our technical apparel team. This role is integral to advancing the design, sourcing, and merchandising of cutting-edge materials for technical apparel. As part of our dynamic team, you will work on exciting projects that require innovative solutions and an in-depth understanding of technical fabrics and performance apparel construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Materials Development: Lead the research, development, and sourcing of advanced fabrics, including fire-resistant, water-repellent, and other high-performance materials tailored for military or other high performance applications.
• Supplier Management: Identify and establish partnerships with global suppliers, negotiate terms, ensure material quality, and maintain supply chain reliability.
• Merchandising: Oversee the merchandising of technical and lifestyle apparel items, including inventory management, product presentations, and advising on design adaptations to meet the specific needs of the defense and tactical professional sectors.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including design, production, and marketing, to ensure the seamless integration of material solutions into final products.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in materials sourcing, development, or merchandising, preferably within the performance or technical apparel sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of advanced fabrics and materials, including fire-resistant and water-resistant textiles, and other specialized materials used in Technical apparel.
• Proven experience working with global suppliers and navigating international markets.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
