Associate Director of Policy & Strategy

How You Will Make a Difference: In this role, you will lead efforts to shape and execute strategic initiatives that unite stakeholders across government, industry, and academia, driving transformative change in Israel and strategic regions worldwide. The Associate Director will be responsible for:

• Conducting and evaluating strategic analyses and planning methodologies to support cross-functional collaboration among stakeholders in industry, academia, government, and service providers.
• Collaborating with GFI’s international affiliates and policy teams to promote national alternative protein strategies.
• Identifying and assessing new opportunities for public policy engagement across foreign governments and global organizations.
• Building and maintaining relationships with public stakeholders to secure foreign government support and foster the development of local alternative protein ecosystems.
• Creating compelling letters, factsheets, presentations, policy briefs, and other resources, to effectively convey GFI’s vision and goals.
• Representing GFI in meetings, conferences, and public events.
• Fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned by the VP of Strategy and Policy, contributing to departmental initiatives and policy-related projects.

The Associate Director must have:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in or collaborating with a strategic consulting firm (required).
• Experience working in government relations or international relations (strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to confidently engage with high-level officials, policymakers, executives, and politicians.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a track record of persuasively influencing decision-makers and fostering executive-level relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hebrew.
• Highly self-motivated, able to thrive under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and proactively address gaps and unmet needs.
• Comfort working remotely and in a rapidly growing and evolving organization.
• Strong alignment with GFI’s mission, including a demonstrated commitment to causes such as environmental sustainability, public health, animal protection, or hunger relief.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Reports to: VP Strategy and Policy

Location: Hybrid, 1-2 days a week in Tel Aviv
