Data Scientist

Sentra is on a mission to enable cloud-driven organizations to regain control and secure their full data lifecycle. We are a fast-growing start-up company, located in Tel Aviv (near a train station) with a very strong founding team. We are looking to hire a talented and experienced Backend Software Engineer to join us and be a part of the company’s early stage core team.

The role is within a team which is responsible for classification abilities in Sentra. We use a combination of ML abilities, including NER and LLMs, along with great engineering and analytics to deliver findings on millions of files and tables a day.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models, including NER and LLMs, to enhance Sentra’s data classification and entity recognition capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with other data functions, as well as Product, to develop and maintain a high-quality experimentation framework to support rapid model iteration, improvement, and deployment.
• Use the vast amounts of Sentra’s metadata to define key quality metrics to evaluate model performance and ensure consistent improvements in classification accuracy.
• Quickly respond and adapt to customer-driven needs while ensuring high quality and performance standards.
• Balance quality and scalability to ensure Sentra has the best performing classification engine in the world.
• Drive innovation by identifying new opportunities to leverage data science and ML for improved accuracy and scalability of classifications.
  
  

• 5+ years of experience in data science with a strong focus on ML model development.
• Proven expertise in developing and deploying machine learning models at scale in production environments.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies and cloud services, especially in the context of processing and analyzing large-scale datasets.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.
• Experience working with NER tasks and LLMs - an advantage.
• Experience using cloud based fine tuning frameworks - an advantage.
• Experience working with MLOps tools and cloud services - an advantage.
• A Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics) is preferred - an advantage.
