Platform Backend Engineer

At Firefly, we are looking for a talented Platform Backend Engineer to join our Core team in our R&D department.

As part of the Core team, you will participate in designing and building our next-generation cloud-based solutions. You will tackle challenges of performance, scalability, and availability in multi-cloud environments while leveraging the newest services and tools.

This genuinely unique R&D position puts you at the center of the system and the development cycle, working on core platform functionalities that are critical to our success.

Responsibilities:

As a Platform Backend Engineer, working in the Core team, you will:

• Work in a scrum environment.
• Be part of an extremely agile team operating in dynamic environments.
• Participate in service development and cloud-based environments within R&D.
• Contribute to infrastructure and system design.
• Use the latest technologies and manage high-performance, high-scale infrastructure on top of AWS and Google Cloud resources using modern development tools such as Golang stack, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch.
• Ensure proper security, monitoring, alerting, and reporting for backend services.
• Collaborate closely with our product team.
  
  

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a backend engineer - a must.
• Deep hands-on experience in Golang - a must.
• Significant experience creating and utilizing RESTful APIs and scalable performance systems - a must.
• Proven experience as a DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineer - an advantage.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience in GCP/Azure - an advantage.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus/Grafana.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, and Elastic.
• Significant experience with IaC such as Terraform/Cloudformation/Pulumi/Helm.
• A deep understanding of cloud architecture and modern system design principles.
• Experience working in a SaaS company.
• The ability to take responsibility and work independently with a "can do" attitude and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
