Vice President Research And Development

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy:
• Scale and lead R&D teams, maintaining high standards of delivery, execution, and innovation.
• Define and oversee technical and architectural strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
• Implement R&D performance metrics (e.g., time to production, delivery vs. planning) and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

• Team Management & Development:
• Manage and mentor engineering teams of 60-100 members, ensuring a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Build and grow the team, develop leadership capabilities, and implement organizational changes to support scale.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to address complex challenges effectively.

• Technical Oversight:
• Stay updated with modern tech stacks, AI/ML technologies, and industry best practices.
• Oversee the development and deployment of data-driven solutions, algorithms, and machine-learning models to enhance product capabilities.
• Make strategic architectural decisions and set technical agendas to leverage AI, ML, and advanced analytics.
• Balance hands-on involvement with strategic oversight to drive technical excellence.

• Business & Product Alignment:
• Partner with product teams to align engineering priorities with business objectives.
• Understand customer needs and the product value chain to ensure technical solutions deliver meaningful impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to balance technical goals with commercial priorities.

Requirements

Background & Experience:

• A seasoned VP of R&D with a proven track record, ideally having held at least two prior leadership roles.
• Proven success in scaling and leading R&D teams within established organizations.
• Experience managing engineering teams of 50-100 members, with demonstrated success at this scale.
• Strong technical foundation and familiarity with modern tech stacks, AI/ML frameworks, and algorithm development.
• Hands-on experience in data-intensive environments, including expertise in building data pipelines, analytics platforms, and algorithmic solutions.

Industry & Company Background:

• Experience in B2B SaaS companies with tangible, high-value products.
• Background in data-driven companies or modern technology environments is a significant advantage.

• Proven track record of delivering AI/ML-driven products and integrating advanced algorithms into commercial applications.
