Job description
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement to oversee the company’s procurement strategy, import/export operations, and domestic shipping. This role will be responsible for managing a team of procurement buyers, ensuring supplier readiness to meet business goals, and building and maintaining strategic supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, experience in process optimization, and a proven track record of leading procurement initiatives in a global setting.
Key Responsibilities:
•Strategic and Operational Procurement Management:
•Oversee all aspects of procurement, including import/export and domestic shipping.
•Directly manage a team of approximately five procurement specialists.
•Supplier Readiness and Quality Assurance:
•Partner with strategic suppliers to ensure alignment with business forecasts and capacity requirements.
•Address and resolve supplier quality issues, implementing KPIs to monitor and improve performance.
•Lead supplier site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
•Supplier Relationship and Commercial Management:
•Conduct supplier negotiations focused on cost reduction and value creation.
•Manage framework orders, annual contracts, and agreements, securing rebates based on annual turnover.
•Oversee pricing, quotations, documentation, and follow-up processes with suppliers.
•Negotiate agreements for critical items (OBS) and Last-Time-Buy (LTB) items as required.
•Supplier Strategy Development:
•Source and evaluate new suppliers to meet evolving customer requirements while maintaining relationships with current suppliers.
•Participate actively in new project development and supplier selection committees.
•Process Control and Optimization:
•Lead cross-organizational initiatives to address and escalate issues, managing crises when necessary.
•Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and logistics procedures.
•Ensure control and compliance over shipping processes, including tariff and standard adherence.
Qualifications:
•Full-time availability.
•Relevant professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management.
•Proficiency in English (written and verbal) at a high professional level.
•Advanced knowledge of MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel.
•Minimum of 1 year of experience in a procurement management role, with demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.
•Experience in using the Priority ERP system (1+ years preferred).
•Experience working in or with large organizations is an advantage.
