The Need:

To meet the increasing demands on our DevOps team and elevate our infrastructure, we are opening a position for a Senior DevOps Engineer. Following the departure of a key DevOps specialist two months ago, we currently have only one junior team member with a development background. As our development team expands, the current workload has become too much for a single junior engineer to handle.

We need a Senior DevOps Engineer with the expertise to take full ownership of our DevOps infrastructure, lead key projects, and ensure our operations scale effectively alongside our development efforts. This role is critical to advancing our infrastructure, implementing best practices, and supporting our team’s long-term growth.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to drive our DevOps initiatives to the next level. This pivotal position will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our development infrastructure and DevOps practices to support our growing engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and other tools.
• Administer and optimize Kubernetes (K8S) clusters, utilizing Helm charts and operators for service deployment and maintenance.
• Lead infrastructure as code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform, primarily for our Algorithms team, to build and manage scalable and reliable infrastructure.
• Enhance network security and VPN access using OpenVPN and Cloudflare.
• Support and manage deployments in both GCP and Azure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Oversee the use of ArgoCD for monitoring deployments in Kubernetes and maintain continuous deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with development and algorithm teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps processes and effective infrastructure scaling.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts in Groovy and Python to optimize resource usage and ensure consistent performance across environments.
• Monitor and maintain security best practices, identifying and resolving potential vulnerabilities.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with expertise in tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Kubernetes, OpenVPN, ArgoCD, Terraform, GCP, Azure, and Cloudflare.
• Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and scaling CI/CD pipelines, managing Kubernetes clusters, and implementing infrastructure as code.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and containerization best practices with experience managing and securing services on GCP and Azure.
• Solid programming skills in Groovy and Python for scripting and automation.
• Proven ability to design and implement monitoring solutions, with experience in observability, logging, and alerting for infrastructure reliability.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

Preferred:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated project experience in designing scalable CI/CD pipelines, managing Kubernetes clusters, or leading DevOps infrastructure projects.
