Senior Cobol Programmer

Gtech IT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior COBOL Developer to join our team on a significant core banking system implementation project. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Business Process Mapping: Thoroughly mapping out existing business processes at a granular level.

Code Analysis: Collaborating with senior developers to understand and analyze existing COBOL codebase.

Interface Documentation: Documenting key system interfaces and integrations.

Product Development: Actively participating in the development and enhancement of the core banking system.

Required Skills and Experience:

• COBOL Proficiency: Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development, preferably on Linux/Unix platforms.
• Technical Analysis: Proven ability to conduct in-depth technical analysis and work independently.
• Oracle Expertise: Strong SQL skills and experience working with Oracle databases.
• Core Banking Knowledge: A solid understanding of core banking systems and their functionalities.
• Business Acumen: Ability to comprehend business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Teamwork: Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Learning Agility: Quick learner with a strong aptitude for acquiring new skills.
• Documentation: Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Oracle, Unix/Linux, Mainframe, and VMS is a significant advantage.

This role requires a hybrid work model. You will work remotely one day a week and will be on site in Herzliya for two days (for the first year on the job). In addition, you will need to travel to our Airport City headquarters for two days a week.
