Relocation to Sydney- VP R&D

We are seeking an exceptional VP R&D to join the Glassing team based in Sydney. This role is perfect for someone who excels in both hands-on development and in leading a team, with a strong emphasis on innovative thinking and agile methodologies. The selection process will rigorously assess both technical acumen and the ability to inspire and manage a high-caliber team.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly in coding and development projects, showcasing exceptional technical skills alongside managerial responsibilities.
• Implement agile practices to effectively manage a team of at least five developers, ensuring projects are executed with agility and precision.
• Demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking to solve complex problems, drive innovation, and lead the development of groundbreaking solutions.
• Attract, mentor, and retain top talent by leveraging outstanding leadership and communication skills, creating an environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
• Possess a profound understanding of cloud technologies, operating systems, and code optimization, contributing to the company's pioneering efforts in technology.
• Navigate the company's growth trajectory from startup to scale-up with agility, showcasing an exceptional ability to adapt and flourish in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in software development and architecture, with a proven ability to remain hands-on, contributing directly to the codebase, system design, or critical technical decisions when needed.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and scaling R&D teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Startup Experience: Prior experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment, with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on execution.
• Cloud-Native Technologies: Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, including hands-on experience in optimizing systems for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to take a hands-on approach to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Mentorship: Ability to mentor and guide engineers, demonstrating hands-on involvement in technical discussions and reviews.
