As an Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of Island’s day-to-day operations. This role will focus on designing and implementing scalable processes, integrating tools, managing compliance, and driving operational excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with a startup mindset who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  

Responsibilities:

• Procurement and Tool Integration: Research, procure, and integrate software and tools to optimize workflows and support business needs.  
• Process Creation and Optimization: Design, document, and implement scalable processes that incorporate tools to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.  
• Own and maintain the company Travel & Expense (T&E) policy, support employees with travel bookings and expense-related inquiries, monitor T&E compliance and identify policy deviations, recommend improvements to increase efficiency and cost control.
• Compliance Management: Develop compliance frameworks, conduct audits, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.  
• Policy Creation and Enforcement: Create actionable policies, communicate them effectively, and ensure consistent enforcement across teams.  
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams to align operational goals, troubleshoot challenges, and drive adoption of tools and processes.  
• Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of services and products.  
• Budget and Resource Management: Oversee operational budgets, track expenses, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently to meet business goals.  
• Data and Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards to track key operational metrics, analyze data, and provide actionable insights to leadership.  
• Risk Management: Identify operational risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure business continuity plans are in place.  
• Team Support and Enablement: Act as a resource for teams, providing tools, processes, and guidance to help them work more effectively.  
• Scalability and Growth: Anticipate the operational needs of a growing startup and proactively implement systems and processes to support scaling.  

Qualifications:  

• 2+ years of experience in an operational role, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.  
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable processes and systems.  
• Strong understanding of software procurement, tool integration, and process optimization.  
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.  
• Legal background or experience working with contracts, compliance, or regulatory matters is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.  
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks, risk management, and industry regulations- an advantage.
