We are looking for a highly driven Business Process Owner.
In this position you will have full responsibility for all aspects of our logistics operations team, customer service, customs clearance, and billing. Your strategic mindset will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency and profitability of the logistics operation.
Responsibilities:
· Support and develop a strong team of freight forwarding professionals, creating an environment that promotes employee engagement and growth.
· Lead and own the operations team processing flows in a matrix management style for both Ocean & Air teams.
· Manage business processes to ensure accuracy in bills of lading, shipping statements and invoices.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes by identifying areas for enhancement, implementing best practices, and driving initiatives to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
· Lead efforts to identify, analyze, and address operational inefficiencies and roadblocks within our operations to optimize performance and enhance overall productivity
· Drive the transformation of the team from a data entry focus to a proactive and solution-oriented approach
· Identify challenges and develop innovative solutions to enhance underperforming Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational processes.
· Foster a finance-first mindset, connecting the dots between P/L and file level performance.
· Monitor service quality and customer satisfaction levels.
· Implement a process-oriented approach to ensure reliable and consistent customer service
· Bring a strategic mindset to the role, proactively identifying opportunities for operational optimization and leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive results.
· Strong presentation skills for regular interface with stakeholders and inter-personal skills to develop relationships
Skills/requirements:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position in the Freight Forwarding domain
(Ocean & Air), including leadership experience.
· Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) demonstrating a strong educational foundation
· In-depth knowledge of Ocean & Air Freight forwarding business and understanding of supply chain logistics.
· Experience working with data-driven measurements and metrics for functional areas.
· Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of deliverables.
· Proven ability to work with English speaking customers, business partners and suppliers.
· Experience working across a global network of offices in different time zones.
· Ability to identify and resolve problematic areas and trends in data.
· Strong project management skills paired with pro-active behavior to stay on top of multiple deadlines for multiple bids in parallel.
· Experience with Microsoft Office.
· Experience with Salesforce -Advantage.
