VP R&D

Symbiosis is a preclinical, investor-backed Structural Heart company situated in Petach Tikva, developing a revolutionary Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) solution that dynamically adapts to patient anatomy in real-time. 

Role Summary:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of R&D will lead the development of Symbiosis’ TMVR platform, driving the device from concept through preclinical studies and into clinical readiness. This role requires strategic vision, technical expertise, and a creative mindset to solve complex challenges in mitral valve therapy. 

On-site, Full-time

Key responsibilities:

•⁠ ⁠Develop and execute R&D strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance and readiness for clinical trials. 

•⁠ ⁠Lead device design, prototyping, and optimization, with a focus on addressing anatomical challenges such as Mitral Annular Calcification (MAC). 

•⁠ ⁠Drive innovation in structural heart solutions, leveraging a blend of engineering expertise and out-of-the-box thinking. 

•⁠ ⁠Oversee preclinical testing and ensure alignment with regulatory and clinical requirements. 

Preferred Qualifications

•⁠ ⁠Academic degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering. 

•⁠ ⁠10+ years in Class III transcatheter medical device development, including leadership roles in VC-backed companies. 

•⁠ ⁠Deep knowledge of mitral valve anatomy, MAC, and structural heart trends. 

•⁠ ⁠Proven success navigating regulatory pathways and leading full product lifecycles.
