Artificial Intelligence Engineer

The Department of Veterinary Resources at the Weizmann Institute of Science seeks a talented AI Programmer to join our team and contribute to groundbreaking pre-clinical research on complex behaviors. Your role will involve processing intricate datasets collected from various sources, including video, and applying advanced AI techniques to extract meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Preprocessing and Visualization: Prepare and transform large, complex datasets for analysis.
• Signal Processing and Modeling: Develop sophisticated models using supervised and unsupervised machine learning to analyze video and audio signals, including deep learning.
• Statistical Analysis: Conduct in-depth statistical analyses, including linear mixed models, regression, and visualization.
• Software Development: Build and maintain robust software interfaces for diverse hardware systems.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Data Science or a related field (e.g., Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics) is required. A Master's degree is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills: Advanced programming proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB is essential. Experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing (e.g., linear mixed models, regression) is required. Experience in bioinformatics, image/video analysis, and Arduino-based video interfacing is a plus.
• Experience: A strong track record of working on large-scale scientific projects is highly desirable.
• Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
• Personal Attributes: Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent interpersonal and service-oriented attitude.
