Automation Engineer

LAVA, a climate-tech startup making clean energy more efficient and profitable than fossil fuels, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our mission. KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

• Design and develop an automated production line for our heat engine system components, integrating mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Define technical specifications, source equipment, and oversee fabrication, installation, and testing.
• Manage the commissioning process, ensuring the line meets performance, safety, and quality standards.
• Train staff on operation and maintenance while establishing troubleshooting and maintenance protocols.
• Continuously monitor and optimize production processes for improved efficiency and reliability.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• 3+ years in mechanical design, particularly in power and heat systems.
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Solid Edge) and simulation tools.
• Extensive experience with manufacturing methods such as welding, machining, and mechanical assembly.
• Knowledgeable in automation systems, including industrial controllers (PLC) and robotics integration, sensor integration, and electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic drive systems.
• Proven experience in designing and commissioning automated production lines, preferably for thermal or energy-related components.
• Understanding of quality standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, CE marking).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• High-level English fluency – proficient in speaking, reading, and writing.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
