NPI Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced engineer with expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Mechanical Design to join our engineering team at Regulus Cyber. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and introducing new mechanical products that meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This position requires a strong background in mechanical design, an understanding of the NPI process, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market.

Responsibilities:

Mechanical Design and Productization:

-  Design and develop mechanical components as part of Regulus Cyber’s products, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and military standards.

-  Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications using CAD software.

-  Perform reliability and tolerance analysis, material selection, and design validation to ensure optimal performance and manufacturability of mechanical components.

-  Be a part of the NPI process from concept to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful transfers and manufacturability.

-  Develop and implement design that optimize cost, quality, and time-to-market for new products.

-  Coordinate with suppliers and partners to ensure seamless integration and productization of new mechanical designs.

Prototyping and Testing:

-  Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts, ensuring they meet technical specifications and customer requirements.

-   Conduct performance testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations to resolve design and manufacturing issues.

-  Iterate and refine designs based on testing results and feedback from stakeholders.

Documentation and Compliance:

-  Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test reports, assembly drawings and instructions, Bill of Material, and quality control procedures.

-  Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications relevant to cybersecurity and defence applications.

Continuous Improvement:

-  Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design, materials, and manufacturing processes to enhance product quality and performance.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering, materials science, and manufacturing technologies.

Collaboration:

-  Work closely with R&D stakeholders to integrate mechanical designs into complete system solutions.

-  Provide technical support and guidance to external partners throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Education:

-           Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

-           At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the defence industry.

-           At least 2 years of experience in NPI processes for mechanical assemblies.

Technical Skills:

-           Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modelling and design.

-           Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and mechanical manufacturing processes, and internal assembly equipping.

-           Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.

Other Skills:

-           Agility and flexibility, can-do attitude and will-do approach to cater a startup environment.

-           Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

-           Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.

-           Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

-           Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical design.
