The Role

We're looking for an experienced MongoDB Consultant to support our database and infrastructure teams in implementing and optimizing MongoDB installations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MongoDB configuration and a strong background in deploying databases on Kubernetes. This role involves designing and fine-tuning MongoDB instances, improving performance, and ensuring high availability within a containerized environment.

This is a part-time, hybrid contractor position, located at our customer's office in Tel Aviv.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and optimize MongoDB databases, focusing on stability, performance, and scalability.
• Design and deploy MongoDB clusters on Kubernetes to achieve high availability and data resilience.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to integrate MongoDB solutions with our microservices architecture.
• Conduct performance tuning and monitoring, ensuring the database environment meets all SLAs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for MongoDB configurations, installations, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, providing guidance on database optimization strategies.
  

Requirements

• At least 3 years as a MongoDB consultant or similar role, with a strong focus on deployment in containerized environments - must
• Expertise in configuring and managing MongoDB clusters, preferably on Kubernetes - must
• Familiarity with Kubernetes operators and Helm charts for MongoDB deployments
• Strong knowledge of database performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate database operations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative environment
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines in relation to database deployment and management - advantage
• Knowledge of MongoDB Atlas or other cloud-based MongoDB solutions - advantage
• Certification in MongoDB or Kubernetes - advantage
