DevOps Lead

We’re looking for a DevOps Lead to join us as the first DevOps professional in our team, and help us build the foundation for scalable, efficient, and reliable infrastructure. In this pioneering role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and implement best practices for our infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipelines, creating the groundwork that will empower our mission to help business leaders make smarter, more profitable decisions with ease.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate our current deployment process and existing choices, making sure we are up-to-date with industry best practices and standards.
• Ensure our platform and services can grow and scale while maintaining global 24/7 availability, reliability and rigorous SLAs.
• Mentor and educate engineering teams on monitoring, logging and tracing techniques to enhance system visibility.
• Boost our developer experience and velocity by enabling isolated, on-demand environments for demos, development and testing.
• Embed security best practices within our processes, ensuring our infrastructure and deployments are secure by design.

Requirements

• 6+ years of proven experience architecting, building and maintaining scalable and highly available production systems in the cloud.
• Strong AWS experience - our microservices architecture is built on Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3 and more, and we deploy our code using Serverless framework.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and a solid grasp of the IaC paradigm (GitHub Actions, Terraform, GitOps, etc.).
• Experience with containerizing services and managing containerized deployments.
• Experience with container orchestration (such as K8s - advantage).
• Deep expertise in observability, alerting and incident response strategies and tools (Grafana, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Logging solutions, etc.)
• Adaptability to balance reliability and cost-effectiveness, making pragmatic choices in a startup environment.
• Leadership experience in setting DevOps strategy and goals, and executing a clear roadmap.
