Assistant Controller

We’re looking for a highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team. As a key financial position supporting our fast-growing company, you will be exposed to all aspects of finance. This is an exciting opportunity to develop procedures, controls, and reports that will contribute to the success of Melio.

Qualifications

• CPA with 2+ years of experience (Big 4 - a must)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Proven ability to excel in fast-paced environments, managing multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, accounting, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset

A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:

• Assist in daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
• Oversee the Bookkeeper's daily tasks.
• Manage the monthly closing process, including preparing working papers, calculating accruals, compiling reporting packages, and conducting analytical reviews.
• Prepare the company’s annual tax reports.
• Serve as point of contact with the external audit firm.
• Ensure proper implementation of company processes and adherence to accounting policies.
• Provide support to the controller on ad-hoc tasks and company-wide projects as needed.
