Network Migration R&D Lead

We are seeking a skilled technological expert who will be our Network Migration R&D Lead, in this role you will lead the research and development of a complex migration process. The main objective of this role is to develop automation tools that streamline the migration of any on-premise network topology from VMware-based platforms to AWS infrastructure.

This role involves developing new tools to scan existing network topologies and replicate them seamlessly within the AWS environment.

In the next phase of the project you will hire, mentor and mange a team of experts.

Responsibilities:

- Lead R&D efforts for network migration automation, guiding the project from conception through implementation.

- Develop innovative tools to scan and analyze network configurations on-premise and transfer them to the AWS network infrastructure.

- Collaborate closely with DevOps engineers and cloud specialists to ensure a smooth migration experience for clients.

- Serve as a technical mentor within the team, especially in areas related to network virtualization and cloud-based networking solutions.

Position is almost fully remote

Requirements:

• Deep knowledge of on-premise networking and VMware-based virtualization:
• Must be proficient in terms such as Virtual Distributed Switches (VDS) and NSX.
• Advanced expertise in AWS network services: Experience with services like VPC-peering, Transit Gateway, and other key AWS network solutions.
• Strong foundation in networking concepts: Comprehensive understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and switching.
• Hands-on migration experience: Previous experience in migrating on-premise platforms to AWS, particularly in a networked environment.
• Proficiency in DevOps: Extensive experience with AWS DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with network solutions and products: Experience with various networking solutions, both on-premise and cloud-based.
