Head of R&D

As the Head of R&D for a well-founded startup company, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction and future of our platform. You will oversee the development process, lead the engineering teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable products. This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the CTO and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

What are you responsible for?

● Lead and manage the R&D department, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals.

● Collaborate closely with the Product team to define requirements and prioritize feature development.

● Work with Product Management and other stakeholders to ensure a successful product

releases that meet market demands.

● Foster a culture of success, continuous learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

● Mentor and guide team members to support their professional growth.

● Recruit, mentor, and provide technical leadership to strengthen software engineering teams.

● Stay updated on technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

● Reporting to CTO and founder.

Who are you?

● 5+ years of experience leading, managing, and scaling R&D teams within SaaS companies,

including managing managers.

● 8+ years of experience in software engineering teams

● Build a culture of excellence by prioritizing quality, driving innovation, and ensuring strong execution across all R&D activities

● Strong expertise in Node.js or Python and React (or similar JavaScript frameworks).

● Experienced with cloud platforms including AWS or GCP.

● Data-driven and entrepreneurial leadership skills, with a focus on achieving tangible results.

● Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a hands-on approach when needed.

● Curious, dynamic, and results-oriented, with a can-do attitude.

● Experience working with offshore teams - Advantage

● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
