Position Summary:

Are you a visionary R&D leader passionate about FoodTech? We’re looking for a dynamic VP of R&D who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and has deep expertise in protein biochemistry. In this role, you’ll work closely with the CEO to bring our vision to life, driving both hands-on development and strategic initiatives to establish our position as a leader in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-On R&D: Design, execute, and analyze lab experiments with a hands-on approach, ensuring quality and precision in all development activities.
• Strategic R&D Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-thinking technological roadmap that aligns with our business objectives, focusing on innovations in protein-based food preservation.
• Project Development: Translate the roadmap into a dynamic development plan, detailing timelines, budgets, and risk management to meet technical and business goals.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and growth.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate technology strategy and progress effectively with potential partners, investors, and other key stakeholders, positioning the company as a leader in FoodTech.
• Innovation & Growth: Drive strategic growth initiatives to keep the company at the forefront of technological advancements in food preservation.

Qualifications:

• Hands-On Expertise: Skilled in laboratory methods and equipment, with a proven track record of hands-on R&D experience.
• R&D Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within the FoodTech or biotechnology industries, with a proven track record in successful product development.
• Expertise in Protein Biochemistry: In-depth knowledge and practical experience with protein biochemistry, particularly in applications for food preservation.
• Multidisciplinary Knowledge: Familiarity with precision fermentation, microbiology, food formulation, and food industry regulations is highly advantageous.
• Educational Background: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field.
• Fluent in English: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Project Management Skills: Demonstrated experience managing projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
• Leadership and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the capacity to navigate ambiguity, think creatively, and deliver results in a dynamic startup environment.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive, independent thinker with a hands-on approach, ready to make a significant impact in a growing startup.
