Role Overview:

As the Head of Game Design, you will be a key leader in defining the vision, mechanics, and overall player experience for our games. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a central role in developing innovative, engaging, and monetizable game concepts while building and mentoring a world-class game design team. This is a hands-on leadership position where your creativity, strategic thinking, and passion for gaming will help us achieve our goal of creating games that players love and keep coming back to.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define the Game Vision: Lead the creative and conceptual development of our games, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission to deliver captivating and socially engaging experiences.
• Core Gameplay Development: Design and refine gameplay mechanics, progression systems, and monetization features to ensure high engagement and player retention.
• Market Research: Stay ahead of trends in mobile gaming, particularly in social and casual games, and leverage insights to create innovative and competitive game designs.
• Team Leadership: Build and mentor a talented game design team, fostering creativity and collaboration while maintaining high standards of quality and innovation.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product, art, and development teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the game.
• Iterative Design Process: Establish a player-centric design philosophy by conducting playtests, analyzing data, and iterating on game features to optimize the player experience.
• Prototype and Pitch Concepts: Develop prototypes and compelling pitch decks to communicate game ideas internally and to external stakeholders.
• Live Operations: Oversee the design and implementation of live events, feature updates, and content expansions to maintain player interest post-launch.
• Key Metrics Focus: Drive measurable results by designing features and experiences that enhance retention, engagement, and monetization.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in game design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful mobile game launches, particularly in social or casual games.
• Managerial and hands-on experience, being able to lead by example and build the game and product team moving forward
• Deep understanding of player psychology, game mechanics, progression systems, and monetization strategies.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring game design teams.
• Exceptional creativity, problem-solving, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in game design tools and documentation practices.
• Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to inform and refine game designs.
• Passion for mobile gaming and an understanding of social gaming trends and player behavior.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate vision, concepts, and design decisions to diverse teams and stakeholders.
