Job Description:

The Vice President (VP) of New Product Development & Hardware Electronics is a senior executive role responsible for leading the development and successful launch of innovative hardware electronic products. This leader will oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from conceptualization, design, and development to commercialization, ensuring that all products meet market demands, quality standards, and business objectives. The VP will also manage cross-functional teams, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives to maintain a competitive edge in the electronics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

· Strategic Leadership:

Lead and develop the overall strategy for new product development (NPD) and hardware electronics to align with company goals.

Identify emerging market trends, technologies, and customer needs to guide innovation and product roadmap.

Oversee portfolio management, ensuring that new products align with market opportunities and company growth objectives.

· Product Development:

Manage the entire product development process, including ideation, design, prototyping, testing, and production.

Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, manufacturing, and marketing, to deliver high-quality hardware products on time and within budget.

Ensure product development aligns with technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

· Project Management:

Direct the planning and execution of product development projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and adherence to project budgets.

Implement best practices in project management, including risk assessment, timelines, and milestone tracking.

Foster a collaborative environment for continuous improvement and problem-solving within product development teams.

· Technology & Innovation:

Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methods to enhance product performance and efficiency.

Maintain awareness of advancements in hardware electronics, IoT, embedded systems, and related technologies.

Foster an innovation culture by encouraging new ideas, exploring partnerships, and keeping the company at the forefront of product development.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with the R&D, supply chain, marketing, and sales teams to ensure that products meet market demands and customer expectations. Collaborate with procurement and manufacturing teams to manage suppliers, sourcing, and ensure cost-effective production.

· Financial Management:

Develop and manage the NPD budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies without compromising on quality or innovation. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product development, such as time-to-market, return on investment (ROI), and product success rates.

· Team Leadership & Development:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product development team, ensuring talent development and succession planning. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and innovation across all departments.

Promote diversity and inclusion within the product development teams.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in hardware electronics product development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven track record of managing the full product lifecycle from concept to launch in the electronics or high-tech industry.

Strong understanding of hardware design, embedded systems, product architecture, and regulatory compliance.

Expertise in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
