Research Assistant

A temporary role as a lead or assistant researcher in R&D of veterinary vaccines for use in aquaculture.

Phibro Animal Health Corporation is hiring a research Scientist, reporting to the Fish vaccines R&D team leader. This role is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain a wide and in-depth, hands-on experience in the development of veterinary vaccines intended for use in aquaculture. The ideal candidate is a passionate scientist who is eager to learn, work and develop his or her skills as an individual and within a group.

Responsibilities

• Development of recombinant and native antigen

• Testing and Development of analytical methods for antigen quantification

• Generate pilot vaccines for clinical testing

• Assist in carrying out in vivo assays in target species

• Establish with RA team dossier for submission in target markets.

• Write documents/ working instruction/ protocols and summaries of work in a variety of e-platforms.

R&D Skills

• Microbiology

o Bacterial isolation

o Titration

o Fermentation

o Yeast fermentation

• Analytical techniques

o ELISA

• In-vivo - working with fish – an advantage but not required

• Good interpersonal communication and presentation skills

• Scientific project management (PhD or MSc with 3+ years of industry experience preferred)
