Senior Backend Engineer

We are disrupting the traditional $80 billion ski travel industry with the world's first self-service platform for booking an entire ski trip in just a few clicks. Our unique dynamic package technology empowers customers to plan, compare, book, and fully customize their ski holiday by providing real-time prices and availability for millions of ski trip combinations.

Our technology connects in real-time to thousands of supplier APIs to provide customers with a one-stop-shop solution to book everything they need for their ski holiday, including flights, airport transfers, accommodations, ski lift passes, ski gear rental, lessons, and more.

We partner with over 100 ski resorts (and counting) across 10 countries and have already sold over 70,000 ski holiday packages to skiers worldwide. We are profitable, and growing big!

We are looking for a kickass backend engineer to join our core team.

The right person will become a major part of designing our architecture and building our product. Our main tech stack is Node.js, TypeScript, Terraform, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Snowflake and AWS.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance web applications.
• Continuously improve our backend architecture to support company growth while increasing dev-velocity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, create technical specifications, and develop software solutions.
• Implement efficient and secure backend APIs
• Leverage cloud technologies to build, deploy, and maintain applications and infrastructure.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability by adhering to best practices, code reviews, and testing frameworks.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance and knowledge sharing as needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in backend development using one or more of the following languages: Node.js, Go, Python, Ruby, or Rust, with demonstrated proficiency in Node.js as a key part of that experience.
• Solid understanding of system architecture and proven experience in building scalable high-performance web applications.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with microservices architecture, serverless functions and Monorepo.
• Vast experience with AWS and CI/CD workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.
