ML Research Engineer

Controp is a world leader in cutting-edge electro-optical payloads for the military and paramilitary market. Our systems incorporate advanced machine vision and AI algorithms for real time video processing and analytics. We are expanding our AI capabilities and are looking for team players to join our AI group.

Responsibilities

:Design, develop, and implement both AI and computer vision algorithms for diverse real-world applications, such as object detection, classification and tracking, scene understanding, image enhancement and many more

.Integrate algorithms into existing software systems and develop robust production-ready solutions

.Collaborate with other researchers, hardware and software engineers and data scientists to translate research concepts into practical applications

.Optimize and fine-tune algorithms for performance, economy, and efficiency in real-world scenarios on a variety of computing platforms

.Test and validate computer vision models, ensuring reliability and robustness across diverse data sets

.Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI and computer vision, continuously improving your skills and contributing to the team's knowledge base

.Required Qualifications

• :Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a focus on AI for Computer Vision
• .Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the design, training, and deployment of AI models for real-world applications, particularly Deep Learning and Computer-Vision
• .Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices
• .Proficiency in C++ and Python
• .Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) and computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV)
• .Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and MLOps principles
• .Experience with foundation models, especially vision language models (VLM), GenAI – Advantag
• eExperience with multispectral Imaging – Advantag
• eExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructions for various stakeholders
• .Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure
• .Excellent English, both oral and written
• .Publications at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, NeurIPS – Advantag
