RF-engineer for the Quantum Hardware Team

QHIPU Quantum, a full stack quantum computing company, develops state-of-the-art quantum computing systems implemented with superconducting qubits (both hardware and software).

We build quantum processing units (QPUs), develop novel quantum gates and circuits, and aim to implement new algorithms capable of solving hard computational tasks, beyond current classical computational abilities.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled RF-engineer to join our company. As part of the Quantum Hardware team, your central task will be to design and simulate the superconducting quantum circuits – the core of our company’s quantum computing hardware – and to develop the microwave packaging, in which the devices are cooled down to sub-Kelvin temperatures. Your work will focus on RF-engineering, but is expected to extend, more than occasionally, to other disciplines such as cryogenics, superconductivity, nonlinear physics, quantum optics and more.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

●      RF-circuitry design

●      2D and 3D numerical FEM and transient numerical simulations

●      Development of microwave packaging for a cryogenic dilution refrigerator

Requirements

Need to have:

●      BSc (MSc – advantage) in electrical engineering, applied physics, or equivalent

●      At least 2 years of experience in an industrial engineering framework

●      Strong understanding of microwave physics and electrical circuits

●      Proven proficiency in Python

●      Experience in numerical RF-simulations

●      Capability to work both alone and as part of a team

●      Fluency in English

Nice to have:

●      Understanding of basic concepts in quantum optics and/or superconductivity

●      Familiarity with HFSS or similar FEM programs

General

Our offices are in Tel Aviv, and our newly renovated lab facility is located at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Givat Ram). For the foreseeable future you will mostly work in Tel Aviv.
