1. Role Overview
The Business Operations Manager will support the CEO and executive team by overseeing key operational areas, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring efficient execution of the company's growth plans. This role bridges the gap between strategy and execution, ensuring that the company meets its objectives, aligns with market needs, and scales effectively.
2. Key Responsibilities
a. KPI Management
- Define and Track KPIs: Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators that align with the company's strategic goals, such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), customer lifetime value (CLTV), transaction volume growth, and churn rate.
- Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for the CEO and executive team to facilitate informed decision-making.
b. Support for Investors and Board Meetings
- Investor Relations: Assist in managing relationships with current and potential investors by providing updates, preparing reports, and supporting fundraising efforts.
- Board Deck Preparation: Collaborate with the CEO to create compelling board presentations, including financial performance, strategic updates, risk assessments, and growth strategies.
- Documentation: Maintain and organize all investor-related documents, including pitch decks, financial forecasts, and compliance reports.
c. Strategic Partnerships
- Identify Partnership Opportunities: Research and identify potential partners that align with the company's strategic goals, such as technology providers, financial institutions, and industry associations.
- Partnership Development: Work with the CEO to negotiate partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and alignment with company objectives.
- Manage Partner Relations: Oversee the execution and management of partnerships, ensuring ongoing value delivery and performance monitoring.
d. Growth Initiatives
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for expansion, including potential new verticals, geographic markets, or service enhancements.
- Go-to-Market Strategies: Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new product launches or market entries, coordinating with sales, marketing, and product teams.
- Scalability Planning: Work on scalability initiatives to ensure that the company’s operations can support growth without compromising service quality.
e. Process Optimization
- Operational Efficiency: Evaluate and improve internal processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource allocation.
- Technology Implementation: Identify and implement tools and technologies that streamline operations, improve data analytics, and enhance customer experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration across departments to ensure alignment and smooth execution of projects.
3. Skills and Qualifications
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate market changes, and align operations with strategic objectives.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills for presenting to the board, investors, and internal teams.

- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the payments industry, embedded financial services, and SaaS business models.

- Customer Retention Rate: Monitor the percentage of retained customers to gauge satisfaction and service quality.
- Partnership Success Rate: Evaluate the number of successful partnerships formed and their impact on growth.
- Operational Efficiency: Track the reduction in operational costs and time savings from process improvements.
- Fundraising Milestones: Success in achieving fundraising targets and maintaining positive investor relations.
