Backend Developer

Role Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our startup. You will develop, maintain, and improve our software products. You will work with a team of developers, a product manager, a CTO, and business-related personnel to build innovative software solutions that help our customers automate their sales tax compliance process. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in software development. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain software products related to sales tax compliance, including calculation engines, reporting tools, and integrations with other software systems. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test new features and enhancements to existing software products. 
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to software development best practices. 
• Ensure our software products' scalability, security, and reliability by conducting regular code reviews, performance testing, and debugging. 
• Continuously learn and keep up to date with modern technologies and software development trends. 
• Work with customer support and sales teams to troubleshoot issues and provide technical support. 

Requirements 

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in computer science or a related field. 
• Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot, project Reactor (Webflux) – an Advantage. 
• 5+ years of software development experience, focusing on cloud-based applications and services. 
• Experience working with databases, especially MongoDB. 
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, AWS, GCP. 
• Experience with code coverage methods and tools, such as Test Containers Cloud. 
• Knowledge and experience in observability and telemetry, such as open telemetry and Datadog. 
• Strong proficiency in CI/CD processes and tools, such as CircleCI. 
• Experience with container solutions, especially Docker, ECS/EKS/GKE Fargate. 
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues. 
• Practical communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
