Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join a rapidly growing team focused on trust, data, and deep insights. This role involves working with advanced big data technologies, collaborating closely with analysts, data scientists, and software developers to build and maintain scalable data infrastructure. The work you do will have a direct impact on reducing fraud and improving customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Gather data needs from internal customers like product teams and analysts, and translate them into a functional database and analytics solutions.
• Develop data-centric software, including database design, batch and near-real-time ETL pipelines, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with colleagues locally and globally.
• Influence software architecture for data and analytics systems.
• Participate in design and code reviews, while managing your own time and tasks.
• Be the go-to expert for all things related to data: exploration, pipelines, analytics, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience working with internal customers to gather data requirements and develop solutions.
• Proficient in SQL in large-scale data warehouse or data lake house environments (e.g., Spark, Databricks, Presto/Athena).
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS (EMR/Spark, S3, EC2).
• Strong knowledge of database modeling and data integration tools.
• Proficient in scripting with Python and shell scripts in a Linux environment.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with fraud/cyber systems.
• Knowledge of Data Science/Machine Learning.
• Experience with Scala or Java.
• Experience with stream processing or near real-time data ingestion.
• Knowledge of graph databases.
