Director of Data and Analytics

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Data and Analytics to lead our data-driven strategy, working closely with teams to enhance player engagement, retention, and monetization.

As the Director of Data and Analytics, you will be responsible for building the data department from the ground up and manage our Business Analysts and BI Developers to provide insights and strategies that optimize our game portfolio and business operations.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Business Analysts and BI Developers. Ensure smooth collaboration, professional growth, and alignment with company goals.
• Data Strategy: Define and execute the company’s data strategy, building the foundation of the data department to enhance user experience, game economy, and business performance.
• Business Intelligence & Data Management: Lead the development of data infrastructure, including BI tools, real-time visualization platforms, and ETL processes. Ensure efficient data flow and integration from multiple sources, creating scalable systems that foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
• Analytics & Insights: Oversee the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports to monitor game performance and KPIs. Ensure that data-driven insights are easily accessible to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making across the company.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, monetization) to identify data opportunities and define solutions that enhance game performance and player experience.
• A/B Testing: Oversee and guide the design and analysis of A/B tests to enhance game features, player retention, and revenue.
• Data Governance & Compliance: Lead efforts in data governance, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and promoting the ethical and secure handling of data throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership experience in data analytics or BI within a gaming or tech environment
• At least 3 years of experience managing teams of data professionals, ensuring collaboration and professional development.
• Experience building and scaling a data department from the ground up.
• Strong analytical background with expertise in both business analysis and BI development.
• Mastery in SQL and database management.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), including real-time visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Looker, or similar tools).
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and data modeling.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams and present data-driven recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with A/B testing, data pipelines, and large-scale data systems.
• Passion for gaming and understanding of gaming business models.

Preferred:

• Experience in the gaming industry is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI techniques to drive future innovations as the department scales.
