Tech Lead – Early-Stage Startup in AI & HR Tech

About Us:

We are an early-stage, fast-growing pre-seed startup revolutionizing HR tech through innovative, AI-powered customer-facing applications and complex data pipelines. Our mission is to create cutting-edge technology to revolutionize hiring processes and deliver valuable insights to companies. We are looking for a dynamic Tech Lead to lead and scale our R&D efforts as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities:

• R&D Leadership: You will be responsible for our R&D department, which currently consists of two engineers (one focused on application development and one on AI). As the company grows, you will lead the expansion of the team and oversee both development and research efforts.
• Sprint and project management: Plan and manage sprints, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely product delivery. Balance short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.
• Hands-on development: Spend at least 50% of your time on coding, solving technical challenges, and implementing key features. Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Technical strategy: Work closely with the founders to define the technical vision and long-term roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives and growth trajectory.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with product management and other teams to understand business needs, translate them into technical solutions, and drive the product lifecycle from ideation to deployment.
• Full-stack development: Oversee the technical stack, including React, Next.js, Flask, PostgreSQL, and GCP (Kubernetes), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security as we grow.\

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience, including at least 2+ years in a leadership role managing teams and projects.
• Experience leading development in startups or fast-paced environments, with a ability to scale teams and products.
• Strong coding skills and hands-on experience with React, Next.js, Flask, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in planning and managing sprints in Agile environments and delivering products on time.
• Experience working with AI/ML technologies and data-driven products, ideally in the HR tech space.
• Solid experience designing and maintaining scalable, distributed systems using microservices architecture.
• (A Plus) Product-focused mindset: Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, with a focus on delivering value through product innovation.
• Leadership skills, able to mentor engineers, foster collaboration, and manage competing priorities with the founders.
