Development Manager for Autonomous Mission Systems

Axon Pulse presents next-generation radar signal processing. Using AI and Deep Neural network techniques, Axon Pulse improves the classical radar and signal processing performance and enables enhanced detection, classification, resolution, and tracking capabilities.

We are looking for a Senior Development Manager for Autonomous Mission Systems.

The mission system is a central and essential component in autonomous super-system projects, enabling both the operational functionality of each unit on the one hand and the overall systemic functionality of all units in distributed environments, as well as the interfaces for human operators, in accordance with the requirements of various projects.

As a Development and Integration Manager, you will oversee the execution and monitoring of mission system development as a product and its adaptation for various projects within larger System of Systems (SoS) frameworks. These frameworks include sensors, command and control systems, autonomous UxV tools, upgrading low-level autonomous systems to high-level autonomy, integrating and operating various payloads, tactical system connectivity, smart agent development, artificial intelligence, precise mapping, extracting information from diverse sensor disciplines (such as optics and various radars), mission insights, and many other diverse scopes.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers (responsible for schedule/prioritization) and system architects (responsible for detailed engineering design) to ensure synchronized development.
• Integrate and test systems, ensuring they meet the defined requirements.
• Gain familiarity with the problem domain and understand the product at an engineering level (under the guidance of the system architect).
• Transfer detailed engineering design to development, and manage the integration and system testing.
• Maintain a systemic perspective, understanding engineering designs, system processes, and interfaces between subsystems in UML.
• Optimally manage matrix development teams, including prioritization, planning, and control of short development cycles (a few weeks each).
• Plan development goals and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements:

• BSC Computer Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in managing large software development projects, preferably those integrating systems and payloads, including delivery and post-delivery support, with an emphasis on software integration and working with matrix system engineering teams.
• Significant advantage for experience in projects involving the integration of autonomous platforms or swarms.
• Extensive experience leading software projects in a matrix organization.
• Multi-disciplinary systemic understanding and insight.
• Familiarity with modern software development (DevOps, containers, microservices, DDS, PUB/SUB, etc.), open architectures, and runtime environments (x86 and ARM).
• Advantage for experience in AI-based systems/product development.
• Preferred familiarity with current land-based command and control systems, especially those with IDF relevance, and an advantage for candidates who were part of development teams in this field.
