Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership and Strategy: Lead, inspire, and manage the R&D department, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and long-term goals.
· Develop and execute the product and technology strategy, creating an innovative roadmap that supports the company’s growth and competitive edge.
· Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the organization’s development direction and ensure that R&D projects align with business objectives.
· Team Building and Recruitment:
· Oversee the recruitment and retention of top talent within the R&D teams, including programmers, designers, engineers, and other development professionals.
· Build a high-performing team by nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
· Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to ensure the growth and advancement of team members.
· Project Management and Execution:
· Create and manage project timelines, setting clear deadlines and development milestones for product releases and R&D initiatives.
· Ensure timely delivery of projects within the established budget, managing resources efficiently to maximize output.
· Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to release, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet market demands.
· Budget and Resource Allocation:
· Approve and manage budgets related to development activities, ensuring that resources are allocated optimally to meet project needs.
· Work closely with finance teams to ensure proper financial planning and budget adherence for all R&D operations.
· Innovation and Technology Advancement:
· Stay informed on the latest technological advancements, trends, and competitive developments to drive innovation within the company.
· Identify and implement emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that can enhance the company’s product offerings and operational efficiency.
· Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation and risk-taking within the R&D teams.
· Collaboration and Cross-Departmental Leadership:
· Act as the key interface between R&D and other departments.
· Participate in high-level decision-making and strategy development across the organization.
Quality and Compliance:
· Ensure that all development processes comply with industry standards and regulations.
· Maintain a high standard of product quality and performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D team.
Qualifications:
· Educational Background:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience:
· Proven experience (8+ years) in an R&D leadership role within a technology-driven company and experience in multidisciplinary deep tech companies with a track record of leading successful product development projects.
· Strong experience in managing cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and designers.
· Technical Expertise:
· Deep understanding of software and hardware development processes.
· Leadership Skills:
· Exceptional leadership, team-building, and mentorship abilities, with a history of building and scaling high-performing R&D teams.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
