We’re seeking an experienced and visionary VP of R&D to lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative solutions at Prompt Security. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with proven leadership skills, enabling them to oversee the entire product development lifecycle. This includes managing teams of engineers, setting R&D strategies, and driving the successful execution of complex projects. Experience in AI, cybersecurity, and scalable software architecture is essential.

You’ll collaborate closely with our leadership team to align our R&D efforts with business goals, ensuring we remain at the forefront of technological advancements in Generative AI security.

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

• Lead and drive the R&D strategy, focusing on the development of innovative AI security products and solutions.
• Identify emerging trends and technologies in Generative AI and cybersecurity to guide the company’s R&D direction.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the R&D team.

Team Development & Management

• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing R&D team consisting of developers, data scientists, and researchers.
• Oversee recruitment, professional development, and team growth to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Product Development & Execution

• Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from conceptualization through to delivery and optimization.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the seamless integration of R&D outcomes into market-ready products.
• Ensure that products meet scalability, security, and performance requirements, particularly within cloud environments and large-scale distributed architectures.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the leadership team to align R&D efforts with broader business objectives, contributing to overall strategic decision-making.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between the R&D team and other internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and customer success teams.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Foster an environment of continuous learning and development, ensuring the team stays current with the latest technologies and methodologies.
• Implement best practices in software development, cybersecurity, and AI research.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices to drive innovation and maintain our competitive edge.

• Extensive experience in AI and/or cybersecurity.
• Proven track record in leading R&D or engineering teams to develop and deliver cutting-edge, scalable solutions.
• Strong background in large-scale software architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and microservices.
• Strong Leadership & Management abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in building and managing high-performing, cross-functional R&D teams.
• Ability to balance technical involvement with strategic leadership.
