Engineering Innovation Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Innovation Lead to manage a small, agile team working on strategic initiatives that drive innovation within our platform. This role is hands-on, starting with one direct report and expanding the team further, with opportunities to grow into a leadership position. You will work closely on backend and full-stack development, focusing on moving quickly, incorporating AI technologies, and delivering impactful results.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a small, agile engineering team, starting with one team member and scaling the team as needed.
• Drive key strategic initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to align with company goals.
• Be hands-on with development, particularly as a backend (Python and Node.js), and contribute to frontend development (web mandatory, mobile is a plus).
• Take ownership of the team’s deliverables, ensuring high-quality execution and timely delivery of projects.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team leadership role.
• Strong expertise in backend development, specifically with Python and Node.js.
• Proven experience working with AI tools
• Proven experience working in multidisciplinary teams, including data science and AI experts.
• Proven track record of delivering projects in an agile environment with a “move fast and break things” mentality.
• Strong leadership skills with a passion for innovation and taking ownership.
• A Plus -Experience in full-stack or frontend development (web is a must, mobile experience).
• Proven experience leading innovative projects and teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the software development lifecycle and product delivery in a B2B SaaS environment.
• Knowledge of LinearB products and a passion for improving engineering efficiency and productivity.
• Product-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on user experience and a passion for providing feedback and suggestions to improve the product.
