Field Application and backend engineer

Job Brief: 

Cybord is seeking a skilled Python software engineer with a service-oriented mindset to join our expanding R&D team as a Field Application Engineer (FAE). Our company specializes in leveraging AI and big data to analyze electronic components during the assembly process, identifying faulty and counterfeit components. 

Responsibilities: 

In this dynamic development role, you will maintain and take ownership of key tools and processes while optimizing applications for improved performance and scalability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure seamless integration of logic. 

As an FAE, you will serve as the technical liaison between our customers and the engineering team, helping customers effectively utilize our software products, providing technical support, and collaborating with sales to enhance customer satisfaction and product adoption. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Support: 

• Provide in-depth technical assistance during product integration and implementation. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve software functionality and performance issues for customers. 

Customer Engagement: 

• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations for both prospective and existing customers. 
• Gather customer feedback and communicate it to the product development team to inform future enhancements. 
• Travel to client sites to understand their needs and deliver tailored services. 

Collaboration: 

• Work closely with the sales team to identify customer requirements and customize solutions. 
• Partner with product management and engineering teams to understand product capabilities and the development roadmap. 

Training and Documentation: 

• Develop and deliver training sessions for customers and partners on software usage and best practices. 
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting tips. 

Continuous Learning: 

• Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and competitor products to provide insightful support and recommendations. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. 
• 3+ years of experience in Python backend development. 
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. 
• Solid foundation and knowledge of: 
• API development and testing (FastAPI, Flask, Django, Swagger, Postman). 
• Cloud tools and scalable microservice architectures (AWS compute, storage, and message broker services). 
• Distributed relational databases (SingleStore). 
• Application containerization (Docker). 
• Code version control (Git) and CI/CD tools and concepts. 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously. 
• Customer-oriented problem-solving mindset. 
• Fluent in English. 
• Open to frequent international travel. 

Preferred Skills: 

• Experience with cloud platforms or software as a service (SaaS) solutions. 
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role is a plus. 
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
