Bioinformatician

We study the cancer cells that survive chemotherapy and lead to relapse, which we term persister cells. We focus on high-risk neuroblastoma, a pediatric tumor with 50% mortality rates, and seek novel therapies to prevent relapse.

Dr. Liron Grossmann is a physician-scientist at the pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department at the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital, Sheba Medical Center and a visiting scientist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Responsibilities

This is a full-time on-site role for a Bioinformatician at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer. The Bioinformatician will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting bioinformatic data from DNA sequencing, RNA sequencing, ChIP-seq data, and proteomics as well as presenting findings. The Bioinformatician will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Israel and in the USA and contribute to scientific publications and grant proposals. The Bioinformatician will also participate in professional development activities and stay updated with the latest advancements in their field of study.

Qualifications

•Master or PhD in Bioinformatics

•Experience in analyzing RNA sequencing data

•Knowledge and experience in Linux, R and Python

•Knowledge and experience in cancer biology

• Advantages: experience in single cell RNA sequencing, analyzing WGS and ChIP-seq data

•Collaborative and team-oriented mindset

•High communication and organization skills
